Gavin Smith is a powerhouse comic artist based in Indianapolis and a must-see guest at PopCon.
Currently working on an unannounced project for Dark Horse Comics, Gavin has made his mark on some of the biggest franchises in comics, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, and Star Trek. He’s pulled double duty as both writer and artist on TMNT: Black, White & Green, showcasing not just his visual storytelling, but his voice as a creator.
As the co-creator and artist behind Heartpiercer (Dark Horse Comics) and Dead Legends (A Wave Blue World), Gavin brings original worlds to life, making him the perfect guest for fans who love both iconic properties and fresh, creator-driven stories.
You’ve also seen his work on covers for Godzilla, The Last Ronin, Usagi Yojimbo, Archie, and more, plus contributions to Ghost in the Shell and Heavy Metal Magazine. Whether you’re into TMNT, sci-fi, or indie comics, chances are you’ve already seen and loved his work.
A graduate of the Kubert School and now an instructor in their Narrative Art program, Gavin isn’t just creating comics, he’s helping shape the next generation of artists.
