The Yakuza Remastered Collection
Rated: M
| Released: January 28th | Available on:

Following the release of Yakuza: Like A Dragon in November, RGG studio is now releasing the entire Yakuza Collection on Xbox. The Yakuza Remastered Collection includes 3 games: Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5. Even though the collection was released on Playstation back in 2019, and the original versions of the games have been available since the Playstation 3, this gives a chance for Xbox gamers to experience the Yakuza series. The series is in its own realm as there’s not a ton of games that compare to the series, and has developed a cult following.

Currently, SEGA plans to only release the games on Xbox and PC via Game Pass, and also available through Steam.

Control
Rated M | Released: February 2nd (Digital) March 2nd (Physical) Available On: (Next-Gen upgrade)

Remedy and 505-games created quite the experience for gamers with their release of ‘Control’ and now it gets a next-gen upgrade featuring 4K gameplay in February. The original game came out in 2019 on current gen systems. You play as Jesse Faden, who becomes the new Director in a secretive agency located in NYC, using her supernatural abilities to regain control from an otherworldly threat.  The new-gen versions will receive the base game as well as the additional DLC released in 2020. If you purchased the Ultimate Edition for PS4 or XB1, you will receive the upgraded version for free.
** 1-27 Update: This game will be available to PS Plus members for free**

The Nioh Collection
Rated M | Released:  February 5th | Available On: (PS5 Only)

Both Nioh and Nioh 2 will travel to the PS5 as Next-Gen remastered titles. The Nioh Collection includes both Nioh games and all 6 DLC expansions, all in crisp 4K at up to 120 FPS. For those new to the Playstation exclusive series, it’s a mash-up of Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden. You play as William, a samurai in the Sengoku period. You roam through feudal Japan and fight off supernatural beings. The combat system is very similar to the Souls series in that you need very precise timing and aim to defeat bosses.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Rated E | Release Date:  February 12th | Releasing On:

During the 35th anniversary of our favorite plumber Mario, Nintendo surprised us with a port of Super Mario 3D World to the Switch. Originally released on the WiiU, you can play as either Mario, Luigi, Toad, or Peach and compete on new levels against family and friends. While this most likely is a direct port, Nintendo did add Bowser’s Fury to the game.

Bowser’s Fury is the new side game for the Mario franchise. In an open-world setting, Mario travels to Lake Lapcat, only to be surprised with Bowser! Something’s wrong, as Bowser Jr. comes to Mario to ask for help. In the surprise team-up, the pair travel around the island looking for cat shrines so Mario can transform into the Giga Cat Mario to defeat Bowser. Its very Godzilla, but Mario.

Persona 5 Strikers
Rated M | Release Date:  February 23rd | Releasing On:

The Phantom Thieves of Hearts are back! Another installment in the Persona series, Persona 5 Strikers. The game follows Joker and the rest the Phantom Thieves as they battle corruption in cities spread across Japan. Persona 5 Strikers will be a direct sequel to the events of Persona 5. Strikers will feature a new real-time combat system instead of the usual turn-based system.

Destruction AllStars
Rated T | Released:  February | Releasing On: (PS5 Only)

Announced back in June during the PS5 reveal event, Destruction All-Stars was announced as one of the PS5 launch titles. The game itself looks like a mix of Rocket League and Twisted Metal. It’s a 16 PvP derby where you wreak havoc in an arena with a variety of vehicles. Both Lucid Games and Playstation decided to push the game back to February, and even included it in the free monthly games exclusive to Playstation Plus members. The game will be available for download for two whole months, starting February 2th.
